Founded in 1994, Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, Inc. (AESC) is an energy consultancy that drives solutions in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and software for utilities and facilities throughout the United States. Our team combines technical excellence and utility industry knowledge to provide a complete suite of engineering and management services. Our team consists of experts in energy engineering, water and wastewater system optimization, distributed energy resources (DERs), measurement and verification (M&V), tool/software development, energy resiliency, and strategic energy management (SEM).

AESC provides energy engineering and energy management services to the commercial, industrial, and multifamily market sectors. Our team works with customers to understand current practices related to energy, we visit facilities to identify and quantify energy savings opportunities, we help prioritize energy projects and upgrades, we support project implementation, and we develop strategies for continuous energy improvement. Our experts also coach facilities personnel on operations and maintenance (O&M) and retro-commissioning (RCx) best practices.

In the last decade, AESC has performed several hundred energy audits, focused studies, and RCx investigations. Onsite methods include simplified energy surveys, benchmarking activities, SEM treasure hunts, and investment-grade ASHRAE Level 3 audits. Through these efforts, we have created sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, tools to increase efficiency and accuracy. We have honed our skills to identify hidden savings opportunities and have developed an understanding of the key factors that enable successful project implementaiton.
