The City of Seattle (The City) for its Seattle City Light department (City Light) requests proposals for an implementer of a Small Business Energy Solutions program. The successful vendor will lead a team of subcontractors to install energy efficient lighting and equipment at no- and low-cost to the participating businesses. This is an outreach and engagement program focused on customer satisfaction, energy savings, community partnership, and workforce development aligned with the City of Seattle’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. City Light is seeking innovative vendor proposals that address the unique needs of small businesses while complementing our existing portfolio of commercial programs.
Through the Small Business Energy Solutions program, City Light aims to help small business customers impacted by COVID-19 by providing resources to lower and better manage their energy costs. Small business participation will be prioritized in environmental justice communities and the program aims to promote regional economic recovery and workforce development.
In addition to achieving equity and inclusion objectives, the minimum annual kWh goal for this program is 2,000,000 kWh and the annual maximum budget is $1,000,000, including taxes. Should additional funding become available, City Light reserves the option to expand the scope of this Program.
See Appendix 1 for the definition of environmental justice communities and geographic areas included in this definition.
