NEEC provides technical resource help on issues related to Washington State’s Non-Residential Energy Code (NREC).

NREC Compliance Forms

Many building jurisdiction require submittal of NREC Compliance Forms to document compliance with NREC code requirements. These forms support the 2006 Non-Residential Energy Code effective July 1, 2007. Free copies of the forms are available as Microsoft Excel (Windows) files.

NREC Compliance Forms — Excel version

Mechanical Compliance Form 2006 (428k)
Envelope Zone 1 Compliance Form 2006 (228k)
Envelope Zone 2 Compliance Form 2006 (268k)*
Lighting Compliance Form 2006 (432k)**

*If you downloaded these files prior to January 31, 2008, please replace your ENV06-2.xls with this updated version. The Washington State Energy Code envelope compliance forms for zone 2 erroneously indicate that CMU walls with core fill insulation comply with the mass wall maximum U-factor. CMU walls must have added interior or exterior insulation to meet either the standard envelope requirement or the Concrete/Masonry wall requirement. This error has been corrected. The Opaque Concrete/Masonry Wall Requirements table on the ENV-SUM2 worksheet now indicates that CMU walls with only core fill insulation do not comply with insulation requirements.

**If you downloaded these files prior to May 22, 2007, please replace your LTG06.xls file with this updated version

Note: For these automated Windows Excel workbooks to function properly download all four files and place them in a folder (even if you only want to utilize one form). These spreadsheets contain macros that must be enabled to work correctly.

Premium HVAC Service Program

NEEC currently manages the Premium HVAC Service program for Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Through the program, select HVAC contractors perform advanced tune-up services in addition to routine maintenance procedures. PSE pays the contractors a rebate for the advanced services – when the electricity customer agrees to a three-year Premium Service contract.

Participating PSE customers often see a 10-15% reduction in energy use, related cost savings, smoother operations, and longer equipment life. Such advanced maintenance practices also improve indoor air quality, increase employee/tenant comfort, and result in a cleaner environment from using less energy.
